YOGA FOR THERAPY
Yoga according to the possibilities, interests and well-being of each person
FOR HEALTH & HEALING
Yoga Therapy, refers to the adaptation and application of yoga techniques and practices to help individuals facing health challenges.
It can be used:
- As a support to alleviate or prevent many physical, chronic, psychological or emotional conditions.
- To compliment both conventional and alternative medicine.
Yoga therapy is taught by yoga teachers with additional training and experience in the therapeutic adaptation and application of yoga.
The Yoga Therapist may include one or more of a range of techniques to help individuals facing health challenges, such as posture work, breathing techniques, relaxation, working with sound, reflection, and/or meditation. A number of sessions are likely to be needed to confirm safe and appropriate practice.

Gary Ward is by far the best Yoga instructor I’ve ever encountered – his initial insistence on the accent of the breath at the beginning of his class, followed by developing stretches via posture and counter postures, creates an incredibly relaxed, unhurried and caring atmosphere that suits all ages and abilities – he is unparalleled in my experience.Glenn
Gary is a wonderful teacher. He is very professional, calm and caring. I am 76 and have been attending Gary’s yoga classes for a number of years. The class is very friendly and consists of all ages and everyone feels confident knowing that they are encouraged to work within their capabilities, with slight variations when necessary.Doreen
Yoga has been a phenomenal benefit for me. For about 7 years I had been unable to run far or frequently, due to back pain caused by a ligament problem. Even when I didn’t run I felt back pain. After several weeks of attending yoga classes my back pain gradually reduced. Over several months I resumed running and have ran several half marathons in the last few years. Yoga has also been helpful for relaxing and reducing stress. I have attended classes with Zoë and with Gary. Both are highly professional, knowledgeable and friendly tutors. I am grateful for their commitment to yoga and their talent to teach to people, like me, who had little prior experience of yoga.Hannah
I have benefitted a lot from this approach as I like the combination of static and dynamic postures with breath work. The teachers are experienced and genuinely helpful, and it’s nice that they are aware of my individual limitations.Virginia
