FOR HEALTH & HEALING
Yoga Therapy, refers to the adaptation and application of yoga techniques and practices to help individuals facing health challenges.
It can be used:
- As a support to alleviate or prevent many physical, chronic, psychological or emotional conditions.
- To compliment both conventional and alternative medicine.
Yoga therapy is taught by yoga teachers with additional training and experience in the therapeutic adaptation and application of yoga.
The Yoga Therapist may include one or more of a range of techniques to help individuals facing health challenges, such as posture work, breathing techniques, relaxation, working with sound, reflection, and/or meditation. A number of sessions are likely to be needed to confirm safe and appropriate practice.

Yoga has been a phenomenal benefit for me. For about 7 years I had been unable to run far or frequently, due to back pain caused by a ligament problem. Even when I didn’t run I felt back pain. After several weeks of attending yoga classes my back pain gradually reduced. Over several months I resumed running and have ran several half marathons in the last few years. Yoga has also been helpful for relaxing and reducing stress. I have attended classes with Zoë and with Gary. Both are highly professional, knowledgeable and friendly tutors. I am grateful for their commitment to yoga and their talent to teach to people, like me, who had little prior experience of yoga.Hannah
Having now been practicing yoga for almost a year with Gary I would like to say how much it has made a difference to the quality of my mobility and life. Gary has allowed me to develop my practice at my own pace. I have never felt under pressure to take more lessons then what were feasible to me and never felt obligated to continue the practice if it didn’t benefit me. I have particularly enjoyed the person centred approach making me feel he’s only teaching me and no one else. He’s always been available to discuss any problems with my practice and given immediate feedback.Tanvir
Finding Zoë and Gary’s yoga classes over 10 years ago was one of the best things to happen to me. At a time of great personal change Zoë’s group classes provided some calm and focus amongst an otherwise slightly chaotic life. I have continued to attend different classes, workshops and weekend’s lead by Zoë and Gary, and I always, without exception leave the sessions feeling refreshed and revived. Their calming presence, non-judgemental attitude and kind spirits help to make their classes the best I have ever experienced.Jenny
Since my first yoga lesson with Gary in April 2014, Gary has helped me develop a consistent practice that I really look forward to and benefit from. Gary has always tailored my practice to the space I’m living in, my work commitments, and my physical and mental needs and religious beliefs. I am so glad I took up yoga lessons with Gary, my yoga practice has been a real life saver seeing me through some big life changes and some stressful as well as good times. Gary is approachable, down to earth and I’d highly recommend him as a friendly and knowledgable yoga teacher.Sarah
