Yoga has been a phenomenal benefit for me. For about 7 years I had been unable to run far or frequently, due to back pain caused by a ligament problem. Even when I didn’t run I felt back pain. After several weeks of attending yoga classes my back pain gradually reduced. Over several months I resumed running and have ran several half marathons in the last few years. Yoga has also been helpful for relaxing and reducing stress. I have attended classes with Zoë and with Gary. Both are highly professional, knowledgeable and friendly tutors. I am grateful for their commitment to yoga and their talent to teach to people, like me, who had little prior experience of yoga.Hannah
Zoë’s calm disposition enhances her teaching. My practice has developed not simply with her guidance on the ‘poses’ but deepened with an emphasis on breath work and meditation. Classes are peppered with carefully chosen quotes, readings and insights into the theory of yoga and āyurveda, meaning by the end of the class, both body and mind have benefited from a ‘work-in’ as well as a ‘work-out’!Jennifer
I have been practicing yoga under Gary’s guidance for around 5 years and I cannot speak more highly of my experience. Prior to attending Gary’s class I naively believed that yoga was for the super flexible whose main aim was to master complex postures. However, thanks to Gary’s teaching my understanding of both yoga practice and theory has greatly improved, as has my overall wellbeing. The emphasis is on the importance of the breath which I have found enlightening and have applied to everyday life. As a result of attending Gary’s classes, I have seen great improvements in myself both physically and mentally. The main benefit of attending this class is the fact we are taught by an inspiring teacher who is clearly passionate about his subject and committed to making yoga accessible and achievable for all.Sam
A quick thought I had the other day: since coming to your classes I have been reminded that a slow, determined and mindful practice is both challenging and rewarding for mind and body. I am always amazed at how hard simply standing or sitting can be when all your awareness is focused on the posture!Suzanne
